Who is DGSpecialist Academy designed for?
DGSpecialist Academy is built for data governance professionals who need to deliver outcomes fast. How is this different from other data governance courses?

Do I need to be technical or have a data background?

How long does it take to complete a course?
Most courses take 1-3 weeks if you're working through them actively (2-4 hours per week). Our goal isn't to keep you learning forever—it's to help you build something you can implement immediately. You'll finish each course with a deliverable you can use in your organization right away.

Start with our Data Governance Foundations course. It covers what governance is, how to build a charter, how to define roles, and how to win stakeholder buy-in. After that, most students move to Role Clarity 101 (RACI models) or Winning Stakeholder Buy-In. Not sure? Take our 2-minute quiz and we'll recommend the best starting point.
Do you offer certificates?
Yes, you'll receive a certificate of completion for each course. However, we're not a certification program like CDMP. Our focus is practical delivery—you'll finish with working deliverables (charters, RACI, glossaries) you can implement, which is more valuable than a credential in most governance roles.
